The law and order situation in metropolis remained extremely poor during the past week, as per details collected by Business Recorder, here on Saturday. According to details, crime especially motor vehicle theft, robberies and snatching at gunpoint are on the rise in federal capital as various police stations registered over nine cases of robberies and snatching, 10 cases of auto theft, one each case of murder and kidnapping during the last week.
Industrial Area police station took the lead and registered two cases of motor vehicle theft and other two cases of robberies, followed by Kohsar and Koral police stations. Auto thieves stole a bike (STL-3232) of Talha Ijaz worth 60,000 and lifted a car bearing registration number LED-2369 of Muhammad Aftab Qureshi valuing Rs 600,000 from the limits of Industrial Area police station during the period under review.
In last week, two cases of robbery were reported to Industrial Area police station. Begum Chaudhry Muhad Riaz belonging to sector I-8/4 lodged a complaint that her maid allegedly stole cash of Rs 100,000 from her house. Another Kamran Waqar from sector I-10/1 informed the same police station that unknown robbers stole cash, gold ornaments and other valuables valuing Rs 210,000 from his house.
During the last week, Kohsar police station registered two cases of fake cheque, one case each of robbery and auto theft. Abdullah Yahya lodged a complaint with Kohsar police station that he was on his way home when two persons intercepted him, impersonating themselves as police personal and on the pretext of search they snatched cash valuing Rs 164,000 from him and escaped from the scene. Similarly, motor vehicle thieves stole a bike (RIL-6517) of Matiullah valuing Rs 60,000 from the jurisdiction of the same police station.
Koral police station registered two cases of robbery during the last week and one case of murder. A person Muntazir informed Koral police station that two unknown people riding bike snatched two mobile phones from him. Adil Malik informed Koral police station that unknown persons snatched glasses and cell phone at gunpoint from him valuing Rs 23,900.
Sheikh Zafar Mehmood lodged a compliant with Koral police station that the accused Shahzad and Salma killed her daughter. Margalla police registered two cases of auto theft and one case of fake cheque. The car lifters stole a Mehran car (VS-632) of Zahiruddin worth Rs 400,000 and lifted a bike (BN-035) of Muhammad Nasir valuing Rs 60,000 from the limits of the same police station. Secretariat, Golra and Aabpara police stations registered one case each of auto theft while Sabzi Mandi, Women and Ramana police stations registered one case each of robbery during the last week.
