A delegation of Pakistani businessmen headed by S.M. Muneer, Chief Executive ?Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) held a meeting with the officials of Bashkortoartan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which was attended by around 80 leading businessmen from the Republic of Russia. Azat Fazalyev, President Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Republic of Bashkortostan along with Rustam Kamaletdinov, chairman State Committee of Trade and Consumers Rights Protection were also present.
Azat Fazlyev, President Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Republic of Bashkortostan welcomed the delegates and thanked them for starting their market exploration delegation from Ufa. CE TDAP informed that the delegation was second of the series after Prime Minister and MOC decided Russia as focus market. CE TDAP also highlighted the role of TDAP being a bridge between business market and focusing on market diversification. Russia is the 5th largest economy and 26th largest buyer whereas Pakistan exports to Russia is only 187 million dollar but this country having big potential can be a good destination for Pakistani products.
He said that Pakistan had been given GSP Plus status by EU which was an opportunity not only for Pakistani businessmen but also for investors. "Pakistan is also member of SCO and both countries are moving towards joint cooperation and trade agreements," he added.
He said that the delegation will open opportunities for Russian businessmen. The CE, TDAP invited business community of the region to visit Pakistan and to send a delegation from this region to Pakistan. The CE highlighted strength of different Pakistani products being represented in delegation.
Rustam in his speech informed that 4.1m people were living in area of 500 sq km. The Bashkortostan is an area industry rich and have huge potential for Pakistani products. He also welcomed the delegation. After the formal meeting, B2B session was held and the Pakistani business delegation had very fruitful meeting with businessmen from Bashkortostan. In the afternoon the delegation visited Zur Bazaar and visited the infrastructure and had meetings with market authorities. The delegates from fruits and vegetables association led by Waheed Ahmed, Chairman Fruits and Vegetables Association of Pakistan, was very happy with the meetings arranged and appreciated the efforts of TDAP and Pakistan mission.-PR
