Glimpse on Gadoon Textile Mills Limited
We operate primarily in the textile industry of Pakistan, the fiber spinning sector in particular. We manufacture and process all types of cotton and manmade fibers, thus operating in the B2B sector of the industry. Our clients include some of the biggest names in the textile industry of Pakistan and abroad, we enjoy relationships that have been forged, maintained and strengthened during the past twenty six years of our operations history.
The manufacturing facilities of GTML are located on two premises, one at Gadoon Amazai and another at Super Highway near Karachi.
Manufacturing facility is located at Gadoon Amazai Industrial Estate in the Khyber Pakhtunkhawa province of Pakistan. The said industrial estate was established as a result of government invitation in the late 80's for the private sectors to set-up industrial units in Gadoon Amazai Industrial Estate to provide alternative source of employment in the region to eliminate and eradicate the poppy cultivation, The GTML has initiated its operation with only 14,400 spindles in 1990-91, despite the fact that the government unilaterally withdrew the incentive that it offered for setting up of the industrial units, but the management of GTML decided to continue its operations and continued to expand over the years to meet the increasing demand of quality yarn.
In order to maintain sustained growth in profitability, the Company has established an additional production facility with 34,000 spindles at Karachi. The road transportation cost to and from Gadoon Amazai is day by day becoming exorbitant and makes this decision economically feasible. Import of raw material and export of yarn and easy access to port facilities also favoured this project.
GTML is at the leading edge of introducing new technology at maintaining its manufacturing capabilities at the industry forefront. The organisation structure of the plant provides for operation of independent production units backed up by its own captive power plant of approx. 47 Mega Watt installed at its Gadoon Amazai unit.
GTML holds the distinction of amongst the first textile mill in the world, introduced and commence production of Compact Core Spun Yarn. Its top grade Compact Core Spun yarn which is exported to Far East, Europe and India. It also holds distinction of pioneering "Jet Spinners" in Pakistan. GTML also have privilege as being the largest spinning unit with an approximate 209,000 spindles running at one manufacturing premises and having a total number of spindles at around 250,000.
To acknowledge the performance of the Company, the Karachi Stock Exchange has selected in the list of Top Twenty-five Companies for the year 2010. The GTML is also certified with Oeko-Tex_100 Standards.
