Five Members of National Assembly (MNAs) belonging to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have announced no trust in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Pervez Khattak, saying that the CM was a hurdle towards change.
They made this announcement at a crowded press conference in DI Khan on Sunday where some members of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) along with the local representatives of Awami National Party (ANP) and members of PTI's forward block were also present. The PTI MNAs: Dawar Kundi, Amirullah Marwat, Sajid Nawaz, Khayal Zaman Afridi and Junaid Akbar said that KP was heading towards devastation because of Khattak. They announced rebellion against him, stating that they shall keep striving until the CM was replaced.
The MNAs levelled accusations of corruption upon the provincial government and various ministers during their press conference. PTI MNAs were of the view that the CM was sidelining Imran Khan through a well-planned scheme, saying that the provincial ministers were also equally involved in corruption. They stated that the local elections were held a year ago but the transfer of authority at the lower level had yet not been made possible as the corrupt-lot was a hurdle in the whole procedure.
They said that corruption was at its peak in the departments of Water management, Revenue and Education. They further said that the Opposition in the province had failed to play its role in the province as the CM made everyone his ally.
The legislators accused that the funds of the entire province were being spent on three districts, including Nowshera, Mardan and Swabi. They were of the view that change could only be possible by changing the system whereas CM Khattak had proven to be a traditional politician.
