The protesters ended blockade of Quetta-Chaman highway which was blocked for three days after successful negotiations between the parliamentarians and All Parties Action Committee and the road was opened for routine traffic, here on Sunday.
Earlier, Hundreds of protesters continued blocking Quetta-Chaman highway on third consecutive day on Sunday in protest against kidnapping of people and other heinous crimes being reported in Chaman, Pishin and other areas of the regions.
The activists of All Parties Action Committee and Anjuman Tajran set up a protest camp in Kosak Top area on Quetta-Chaman road blocked the road. Due to blockade of the highway, traffic pertaining to Nato supplies, Afghan Transit Trade and routine trade activities between Pakistan and Afghanistan were suspended as hundreds of trucks loaded with goods were stopped on road. A delegation of parliamentarians including Provincial Ministers, Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal and Dr Hamid Khan Achakzai and the Opposition leader in the Balochistan Assembly, Maulana Abdul Wasey held talks with the protesters who on their assurance to accept their demands ended the blockade of the road which was opened for routine traffic.
