Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan warned on Sunday that his party would once again take to the streets if Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif could not be held accountable on the 'Panama Papers' issue.
Addressing a public gathering in Kohat, and attended by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Pervez Khattak, PTI MNAs, MPAs, ministers amid a large turnout of PTI workers, Imran Khan questioned, why is the Pakistan Muslim League, (PML-N) afraid if the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is not involved in any wrongdoing and added, he is ready for accountability under the very Terms of References (TORs) set for all in the Panama Leaks probe.
Earlier, following an incident of firing on a PTI rally in district Mardan, unprecedented security measures were made to deal with any untoward incident. At least four people were killed and seven others wounded in firing on Pakistan Tehreek -e-Insaf (PTI) public meeting in Mardan on Friday last.
The PTI chief said, Pakistan needs a leadership that declares its wealth and finances and speaks the truth. He stated that Nawaz Sharif had only one factory, but after he became the country s ruler he became owner 28 factories within a span of 12 years. He stated he will never step back from his demand of accountability of the Sharif family on the Panama Leaks issue. Khan also said, no leader in the West can personally benefit from their office, unlike Nawaz Sharif.
During his address he prayed for the quick recovery and return of Nawaz Sharif after heart surgery in London, adding, the Panama Leaks issue could have been long resolved if Nawaz Sharif simply answered four questions.
Imran said, he had not expected a huge gathering of people at the rally because of the extremely hot weather. Khan said, Pakistan is the only country which was founded in the name of Islam and that Pakistan shall one day become a mighty nation and no more borrow foreign loans from any entity.
He said, a day will come when Pakistan will give assistance to poor nations and people and that other nationalities will come to Pakistan looking for livelihood.
Khan said that the youth is Pakistan s biggest power, adding that educating the women is equally important for the country s prosperity and that Pakistan shall be made a welfare state according to Allama Iqbal s dream.
Pervez Khattak while speaking the gathering recounted the achievement of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf led provincial coalition government during last three years in the province. He said that the government had spent its first two years in reforming the institutions and making the necessary legislation.
KP CM said that the government instead of spending on mega projects was focusing on the improvement of the existing facilities to provide improved services to the common man. He informed that provision of better basic services including education, health and reforms in police system and land record were focused for the purpose.
