A large cache of narcotics was set on fire by the police in the presence of Civil Judge Karak, with a resolve to conduct large scale crackdown against narcotic peddlers and traffickers in the district. Police sources said here on Tuesday, a total of 158.967 kilogram of narcotics, including hashish, opium and heroin, seized between October 2009 and 2015 were set on fire by the district police officer in the presence of the Civil Judge Karak, Umer Azmat.
The narcotics being case property were burnt after court announced its verdict. On the occasion District Police Officer (DPO) Mian Naseeb Jan and Civil Judge Karak, Umer Azmat told pressmen present, the purpose of burning the narcotics was to purge society from the evil of drug addiction. They together also resolved, that the police and judiciary would take joint action against drug dealers to save future generations from drug addiction.
