Following the directives of the Supreme Court, Senior Superintended of Police (SSP) Operations on Tuesday visited the Margalla Hills to bar stone crushing in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT). The Supreme Court on June 3 had directed Inspector General of Police (IGP) to ensure the court about safety of the Margalla Hills. Following apex court directives, SSP Sajid Kiani and Superintendent of Police (SP) Saddar Zone Bilal Zafar Sheik visited stone crushing machine at Margalla Hills which was found non-functional.
As many as five stone crushing units were installed in the ICT territory. The stone crushing units have badly affected the residents of area. Health problems rose in the vicinity due to stone crushing activities in the Margalla Hills, a resident said.
