A meeting presided over by Chief Executive Pesco, Anwar-ul-Haq Yousafzai was held at Wapda House, here to review the better electricity arrangements for Ramazan. Superintending Engineers (SEs) of Peshawar, Khyber, Bannu, Swat, Mardan and Hazara-1, Hazara-2 Circles attended the meeting.
The CEO issued necessary directives in the context of Ramazan to SEs and asked them to resolve the public complaints with quick response especially in Sehri and Iftar. He ordered the authority concerned not to carry out any unscheduled loadshedding otherwise strict action will be taken against the responsible.
He further directed complaints received in Sehri and Iftar should be given top priority and redressed immediately. He said that officials who will show excellent performance during Ramazan with minimum breakdowns in their areas will be awarded certificates and prizes. Being unhappy over the complaints of over-billing, he directed Pesco field staff to immediately stop the practice. He said that steps have been taken to implement 100% implementation of photo meter reading to overcome over-billing complaints.
The CEO gave June 30, 2016 as deadline to decrease line losses and increase recovery otherwise they will be dealt with iron hands. He also directed the replacement of damaged distribution transformers immediately in good areas where losses are less and recovery is good. He said that increasing line loss is the main cause of Pesco's deficit. He said they have competent officers and technically sound officials, who should come forward to bring Pesco out of losses.
