Lawyers of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) leader Dr Asim have submitted a request in the Sindh High Court that his bail plea be heard instantly. It has been mentioned in the request that owing to the bad health of Dr Asim and his wife, the bail plea should be heard on instant basis. Furthermore, it is also mentioned that Dr Asim wishes to offer Namaz-e-Taraweeh during the holy month of Ramazan in the mosque.
The instant hearing of Dr Asim's bail plea is expected today (Wednesday). Cases against Dr Asim are being heard in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) court. Sindh High Court has postponed the hearing of the case against Dr Asim's brother-in-law, Khalid bin Shaheen, till June 18. The court has also made an extension in Shaheen's bail till the next hearing of the case. Khalid bin Shaheen has been accused of abusing his authority and of being involved in embezzlement of millions of rupees while working in the National Bank.
