Chairman of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has assured that by July 10, 2016, they will introduce optical marks recognizer (OMR) system in the province. Under the system, 0.1 million answer sheets could be checked in a mistake free manner within a time of 24 hours.
The assurance was given during a meeting of the chairman of BISE Khyber Pakhtunkhwa held here with Provincial Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education (E&SE), Mohammad Atif Khan in the chair. Besides, Secretary E&SE, Afzal Latif and other concerned authorities also attended the meeting. Matters including bringing further improvement and transparency in examination system and maximum use of information technology and utilisation of surplus land of BISE for promotion of sports' activities also come under discussion. Several crucial decisions were also taken in this regard.
The minister said that the provincial government is working on the stability of the public sector organisation and for this purpose reforms are being introduced in each and every institute and sector, saying the recruitment of 25,000 teachers on strict merit in Education department during last three years is ample proof of it.
