The Met Office on Thursday predicted thunderstorm and rain with strong gusty winds would hit scattered places in central parts and upcountry in the next 24 hours. The stormy weather is likely to strike Hazara, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, and Lahore divisions, FATA, Islamabad and Kashmir and few places in Malakand, Mardan, Peshawar and Kohat divisions during evening and night hours.
Dust-raising winds are also likely to hit Multan, D.G Khan, D.I Khan, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Quetta, Sukkur, Mirpurkhas and Hyderabad divisions. Hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country during day time. Very hot weather conditions are likely to continue over plain areas of Punjab, central and southern Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, upper Sindh, Sibbi and Makran divisions.
"Weak moist currents are penetrating in eastern parts of the country and likely to continue during next 24 to 36 hours. Moderate moist currents are likely to enter eastern parts of the country during the weekend," it said. Maximum rainfall was recorded in Jhelum as 17 mm, Rawalakot 10 mm, Muzaffarabad and Murree 9 mm, each, and Garhi Dupatta 6 mm. Jaccobabad was the hottest place in the country with 51 degrees Celsius, Dadu, Turbat, and Shaheed Benazirabad 49 each, Sibbi 48, Rahim Yar Khan, Moenjodaro, Bahawalnagar and Sukkur 47 each, Larkana, Dalbandin, Padidan, Bhakkar, Rohri, Noorpurthal, Nokundi and Bahawalpur 46 each.
