Traders have called for banning live coverage of protests on the Mall Road following concerns over their businesses getting hurt. General Secretary of the All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajiran Naeem Mir and the President of the Mall Road Traders Association, Sohail Butt stated this on Thursday while addressing a news conference at Lahore Press Club.
They urged the Pakistan Electronic Media Regularity Authority to take action, warning that The Mall traders would block any attempt to shut their shops by activists of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek, which has planned a peaceful protest on Friday (today). "As a complete ban has been imposed by the Lahore High Court, the electronic media should not carry live coverage of these rallies, processions and protests to discourage the practice," they said.
