Engineer Chaudhary Muhammad Akram took over charge of Chief Executive Officer of Gujranwala Electric Power Company on Thursday in place of Engineer Junaid Akhtar whose services have been at the disposal of PEPCO. Chaudhry Muhammad Akram is considered as an upright, honest and professional senior officer who had earlier served as General Manager Development, HESCO Hyderabad. He joined WAPDA as SDO in 1981. He had served WAPDA - Electricity wing at Multan, Lahore, Hyderabad and Sukkur as Engineer, Chief Engineer operation and now CEO GEPCO.
GEPCO engineers, union representatives and employees have welcomed Akram's elevation as CEO GEPCO that is responsible to supply electricity to the most important industrial region of country comprising districts of Gujranwala, Gujrat ,Sialkot, Narowal, Mandi Bahauddin and Hafizabad. The Company has over 3,000,120 connections with an average monthly revenue collection of Rs 7548.24 million.
