A lawmaker of ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Tuesday demanded that a bench of Lahore High Court (LHC) be established in Sargodha. Nadia Aziz while taking part in the debate said the step would facilitate people of the area in getting justice as they have to cover a long distance to go to Lahore to get justice.
Another legislator Taimur Masud during the day distributed copies of a resolution among journalists criticising certain statement of a federal minister in national assembly, which he stated had been submitted in the assembly secretariat. Treasury legislators while taking part in the debate termed the budget a pro-people. Legislators Iffat Mairaj, Ghiasuddin, MPA Rameesh participated in the debate terming it a development poised effort that would have a greater impact on the politics of the province in the coming days.
Opposition legislators termed the proposed budget based on false and fictitious figures stating that province has a debt of Rs 533 billion now. Opposition legislators in the session stated that attention was not being given on construction of hospitals and educational institutions in under-developed areas. The session was chaired by Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal. The house was adjourned later.
