Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday appointed Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Jahanagir Khan Tareen as vice chairman and secretary general of the party, respectively. A spokesman of the party said that the intra-party elections of PTI were postponed following Panama leaks. "Once the issue of Panama leaks is resolved, the party will hold intra-party elections," he added.
He said that chairman PTI had appointed Shah Mehmood Qureshi as vice chairman, and Jahangir Tareen as secretary general - the position which the duo had held in the past. The PTI was all set to hold intra-party election but had to postpone it in wake of panama controversy, which according to PTI insiders was done to focus on public mobilisation campaigns across the country, as it believed the government might go for early elections.
