Punjab Industrial Estates Development and Management Company (PIEDMC) Chairman Malik Tahir Javaid has said the completion of Quaid-e-Azam Apparel Park at the Lahore-Sheikhupura Motorway would create over 200,000 jobs. In a briefing on Tuesday, he said the Chinese companies have planned to train Pakistani labour in various industrial disciplines.
Under this plan, various universities would be linked up with the industrial sectors to achieve the target, he added. He said that China was already running a training programme for its unskilled people, which would be replicated in Pakistan. Representatives from Chinese companies would visit Pakistan to launch this training programme soon, he said.
There is a possibility of Chinese investment in the Quaid-e-Azam Apparel Park, which would lead to the need of skilled labour, possessing knowledge of Chinese work ethics, he added.
