Business Community has expressed concern over deteriorating law and order situation of the city. They said that the two recent incidents including kidnapping of Awais Ali Shah, son of the sitting Sindh High Court Chief Justice, and murder of renowned Qawwal Amjad Sabri, had alarmed them as the trend demonstrated the growing feeling of insecurity in the city despite the presence and control of Rangers and police.
Talking to Business Recorder, former President Site Association of Industry (SAI), Jaweed Bilwani said that incidents of crime had been visibly reduced following Rangers operating in recent past but now it was resurfacing and increasing day by day. He said in the month of May and June the crimes had increased, urging Director General Rangers and Inspector General Police Sindh (IGP) to take notice of incasing incidents of street crimes, extortion chits, mobile snatching etc.
He said any unpleasant incident occurred in the city had a very serious negative impact on industries and other business. Mohammad Idrees, a trader, said that it was complete failure of law enforcing agencies that Amjad Sabri was killed mercilessly in board daylight. He said that the government must take action against vehicles moving in the city without number plates or fake number plates, which violate traffic rules and make the SSP, SP and DSP of the areas responsible to monitor their staff work properly.
