Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that efforts being made under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to cope with the challenges being faced by the country are yielding results. He said that work is being carried out round the clock to overcome energy crisis and darkness will soon be removed from the country.
He was talking to assembly members belonging to various districts who met him, here Wednesday. The Chief Minister said that service to humanity and betterment of the poor is the mission of the government. He said that steps are being taken on priority basis for the development of education, health and social sectors. He said that more funds have been allocated in the new budget than the last year for the uplift of these sectors.
He said that with the implementation of the biggest annual development programme in the history of the province a large number of job opportunities will be created while revolutionary development programmes of the government will change the destiny of the province. The Chief Minister said that the funds are trust of the nation and every penny of public money is being spent transparently on the welfare of the masses. He said that federal and Punjab governments have saved a huge amount of Rs 215 billion by setting an example of transparency in various development programmes.
He said that there is no example of saving of such a big amount in the history of the country. He said that every effort of the government is aimed at welfare and uplift of the masses. The Chief Minister stressed upon elected representatives to play their due role for timely implementation of development schemes and welfare programmes and spare no effort to ensure that the benefits of Ramadan package worth billions of rupees reach the masses. Those who met the Chief Minister included Provincial Minister Syed Haroon Sultan, Tahir Ahmed Sindhu, Mian Tariq Mahmood, Ghazanfar Abbas, Rana Ijaz Noon, Manazir Ranjha, Kanwal Nauman and Madiha Rana. MPA Mansha Ullah Butt was also present on the occasion.
