US wheat futures fell on Thursday, closing near session lows on weakness in the corn market as well as pressure from the ongoing harvest of what is expected to be a bumper US crop. Some short-covering and bargain buying kept losses in check. K.C. hard red winter wheat bottomed out at its lowest in 10 years. The USDA reported export sales of US wheat in the latest week at 462,800 tonnes for 2016-17, in line with trade expectations, and 2,500 tonnes for 2017-18.
