Chairman, Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan has said that due to the discriminatory attitude of federal government and decreasing of its receipts from Rs 140 billion to Rs 113 billion has become the victim of resource shortage and is not in position to rehabilitate last year flood devastation in Chitral. For this purpose, he said they had decided to contact donor agencies and in this connection a donor conference will be convened in Islamabad soon.
He expressed these views while getting briefing from Deputy Commissioner (DC) Chitral regarding the flood affected infrastructures after arrival in the District Chitral on two-day visit. The PTI chief said that the rehabilitation of the flood affected infrastructure in Chitral is required a hefty amount of Rs 16 billion, which is not possible within the meager resources of the provincial government. He said that the provincial government is already busy in carrying the rehabilitation activities within its own resources.
Regarding the funding of three governments for the construction of three roads in district Chitral, the PTI chief said that if Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had really fulfilling his commitments, then it would have changed the fate of the country. But, he had become habitual of false promises and construction of roads in Chitral is also mere commitment.
Earlier, District Nazim Chitral, Mughfirat Shah, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Chitral, Osmaa Ahmad Waraich and local MPA Saleem Khan briefed him in details regarding flood damaged infrastructure in Chitral and told that this year, foods season has been started with the beginning of summer and floods have rendered several families in Arsun, Ashriat, Briep and others of the district while roads and bridges were also damaged.
