Public Sector Development Programme 95.7 percent of fiscal year 2016 budget released

The Federal government has released Rs 670 billion (95.7% of the total budgeted for the year) under Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for various development projects against the budgeted allocation of Rs 700 billion for 2015-16, it is learnt.
High-level official sources in the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reforms told the Business Recorder on Thursday that the Ministry had released Rs 670 billion including the entire budgeted local component amount of Rs 553.7 billion as well as Rs 116.3 billion foreign-aid component for the PSDP projects. They said that only Rs 30 billion foreign-aid had not been disbursed which would be released within the next few days. Ministry of Planning, Development and Reforms has not updated data on its website so far but stated that it would be updated today (Friday) evening, he stated.
The federal government has released the entire budgeted amount of Rs 187.86 billion and Rs 22 billion foreign aid for development projects of various federal ministries and their departments. Federal government has released the entire budgeted amount of Rs 30.4 billion including Rs 15.5 billion foreign aid for Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission. A total of Rs 41 billion of the budgeted amount has been released for Railway Division, Rs 13.2 billion for Interior Division, Rs 30 billion for Water and Power Division (Water Sector), Rs 20.7 billion for National Health Services, Regulation and Co-ordination Division and Rs 9 billion for Port and Shipping Division.
The government has released Rs 2.7 billion of the budgeted amount of Capital Administration and Development Division, Rs 39.75 million for Climate Change Division, Rs 875.6 million for Commerce Division, Rs 364.75 million for Communications Division (other than NHA), Rs 175.53 million for Establishment Division, Rs 2.21 billion for Federal Education and Professional Training Division, Rs 13.8 billion for Finance Division, Rs 3 billion for Housing and Works Division, Rs 20 billion for Higher Education Commission, Rs 1.5 billion for Law, Justice and Human Rights Division and Rs 4.7 billion for Planning, Development and Reforms.
The Planning Commission has released the budgeted local component of Rs 95.7 billion and more than Rs 14 billion foreign aid for National Highway Authority and Rs 57.7 billion local component and more than 45 billion foreign-aid for Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) (Power Sector). The Commission also released Rs 12.53 billion of the entire budgeted local component and Rs 775 million of foreign-aid for the development projects of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Rs 9.84 billion local component and Rs 100 foreign component for Gilgit-Baltistan and Rs 19.33 billion for Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).
