A delegation of journalists belonging to Chinese electronic and print media called on Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, here Thursday. The Chief Minister congratulated Chinese government, leadership, people and journalists on 95th anniversary of Communist Party of China.
Speaking on the occasion Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan and China are bound in everlasting relations of friendship. He said that the relations between Communist Party of China and Pakistan Muslim League-N are strengthening. China has made rapid progress due to great Chinese leadership, he added.
He said that Chinese leadership has implemented its vision and made the country developed and prospers that is why China has become a second economic force of the world. He said that Chinese leadership and people have achieved a commendable place in the world through untiring hard work, struggle and uniqueness and today's world cannot even think to live without China.
The Chief Minister said that Chinese President Xi Jinping has set a new direction by giving a vision of one ballot one road and this is the vision of development, prosperity, peace, accommodation, tolerance and brotherhood. He said that China has made great achievements through unprecedented struggle, which is role model for the entire world.
Referring to China Pakistan Economic Corridor, Shahbaz Sharif said that CPEC is a great gift by Chinese leadership and people and exemplary partnership has been made between China and Pakistan through CPEC which is moving forward speedily with every coming day. He said that CPEC will not only change the course of history of Pakistan but the entire region and generations of Pakistan and China will not only benefit from CPEC but a huge population of the region will be benefited. He said that due to this splendid investment package, such opportunities will be created as a result of which the new era of progress and prosperity will user in the region.
He said that China has made great favour by giving a historic investment package of 46 billion dollars to Pakistan in difficult hour and Pakistan will never forget this great favour of China. He said that new history has been written due to CPEC in Pakistan. He said that a new history will be written when energy, infrastructure and other projects will be completed under CPEC as the work is being carried out speedily on these projects. He said that the nations get these moments through hard work, honesty and continuous struggle. He said that work is continuing rapidly on energy projects under CPEC throughout the country including Punjab and these projects will be completed before the stipulated period.
Shahbaz Sharif said that energy projects will be completed more speedily in Pakistan as compared to China. Referring to Lahore Orange Line Metro Train Project, Chief Minister said that metro train is a splendid gift for the people of Pakistan by China and China has made the whole investment for this project. He said that China has also released second instalment of funds for Lahore Orange Line Metro Train project. He thanked Chinese leadership and Exim Bank of China on providing funds for the project despite some problems. Replying to questions of Chinese journalists, Shahbaz Sharif said that PML-N government is fully aware of the challenges coming in the way of CPEC. He said that some opponent elements do not want completion of CPEC but their desires will never be fulfilled. He said that CPEC will be completed by overcoming every hurdle; Shahbaz Sharif said that CPEC will prove to be a source of peace, prosperity, development and brotherhood. He said that Pakistan and China have common goal and no efforts will be spared for achieving this joint goal. The Chief Minister said that Punjab government has sent first batch of girl and boy students to China for learning Chinese language.
He said that soon a second batch of Pakistani girl and boy students will visit China for this purpose. He said that on returning, these students will become great supporters of CPEC. Chinese Consul General Yu Born said that Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif is very sincere and old friend of China and he had played a remarkable role in strengthening Pak-China friendship. He said that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif is forwarding CPEC project with personal interest. He said that work is being carried out with extra ordinary speed on CPEC projects in Punjab. Hearts of people of both the countries beat together, he added. He said that goal of China and Pakistan is common. Chinese journalists congratulated Chief Minister on recovery of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. Spokesman Punjab government Zaeem Hussain Qadri, Vice Chairman Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab Khalid Shaheen Butt, Inspector General Police, Managing Director Mass Transit Authority, Chairman Planning and Development, prominent anchor persons, columnists, journalists and officials of Pakistan were present on this occasion.
