This is apropos a news item "Anti-CPEC elements: Govt decides to frame 'tougher' law" carried by Business Recorder on Tuesday. According to it, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said it has been decided to frame a 'tougher' law to deal with those who are inimical to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as such elements do not deserve to be tried under the existing laws.
The government's decision clearly highlights the criticality of the CPEC insofar as country's future is concerned. Those who are playing in the hands of forces inimical to Pakistan's economic interests are required to be identified and punished accordingly.
The government, therefore, must introduce tougher laws without any further loss of time. Moreover, the political parties, including the PML-N, must bring to an end bickerings and squabbles over the greater interest of the nation and country.
