A group of students of Lahore School of Economics, Lahore (LSE), visited Bajaur tribal Agency and distributed food packages among 1,000 families and students of militancy hit area in Charmang region. In this connection, a ceremony was held at far-flung area of the region which attended by tribal elders, members of peace committees, student and people belonging to different militancy hit areas.
Senior officials of the local administration and security forces including commander of 29 Baloch regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Ghaffar Haider were present on the occasion.
The tribal elders and local people warmly welcomed the students of Lahore School of Economics for their visit to the region. They thanked the students for giving food packages to scores of people of militancy hit areas of the region. They expressed the hoped that the step would not help to provide foods to poor people but will also encourage the people who living in backward and hilly areas of the agency.
Speaking on the occasion, Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Ghaffar Haider praised the students of Lahore School of Economics for visiting the agency and distributing food packages among the poor people of the region. He called upon the others institutions and organisations to follow the students of Lahore School of Economics to support the poor and needy people of backward and hilly areas of the agency.
The official briefed the visitors about the development activities being initiated by the security forces in the region. He told that the security forces were committed to improve the standard of life of the people of the region.
The official said the security forces in the line with the special directives of inspector general of Frontier Crops and senior officials of Bajaur scouts have speedup their activities to improve the educational facilities in the region. He told that education was the best way to boost the social economic condition of the people of the region.
The visitors' students also spoke on the occasion and said that they were very pleased to visit the region and met with the people of the area.
They said that Bajaur was truly a beautiful part of the country and its people are very decent and peace loving. The students vowed to continue such activities in the feature to support the poor and needy people of the region. They also invited the students of Charmang area on a study tour to Lahore.
