The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has urged the government to ensure foolproof security during the Eid days to avoid any untoward incident. The LCCI President Sheikh Muhammad Arshad on Monday said that coward terrorists are used to target the innocent people and common places frequently hit by the terrorism therefore foolproof security arrangements should be made.
Though law enforcement agencies are putting in their best efforts to weed out the menace of terrorism but to make the country terrorism free, every person of the society would have to play its role, he said.
He said the security has become the most important issue and calls for emergent measures to tackle it head-on. The terrorism could only be defeated by collective efforts as no single entity can cope with the situation fully, he added.
The Lahore Chamber is ready to take every possible step for the well being of business community, he said and called for making the businessmen-police liaison committees functional in all the major city markets by incorporating genuine businessmen in these committees.
