Special Assistant to Chief Minister for Tourism Abdul Monim has said Shandur polo event and festival would start from July 22 to 24. Presiding over a meeting, he said that representatives of Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral have agreed on the dates of Shandur festival and it would be celebrated with great enthusiasm, adding that a joint committee would hold a meeting in August to settle Shandur demarcation.
He said participation of Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral teams in Shandur Polo Festival would make the even more attractive for the tourists. He said the team of Gilgit-Baltistan was not participating in polo festival from last four years but due to efforts of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak they agreed to play match this year.
The meeting was attended by MNAs Iftikhar ud din and Fida Khan, MD Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Musthaq Ahmed, Secretary Tourism Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Jehanzaib Awan, Deputy Director Tourism GB Iqal Hussain, Member Tehsil Council Chitral Jamal ud din, President Polo Association Chitral Sikandar Mulk and others.
