Business community has expressed profound grief over the death of legendary philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi and expressed the resolve to carry forward his mission of helping the poor and the needy. All Pakistan Business Forum (APBF) President Ibrahim Qureshi said, "We have lost our most beloved angel of mercy who was a ray of hope for the poor as he was running world's largest ambulance service, as well as nursing homes, orphanages, clinics and women's shelters, along with rehabilitation centres and soup kitchens across the country."
He said that we have lost a great servant of humanity as he was the real manifestation of love for those who were socially vulnerable, impoverished, helpless and poor. Abdul Sattar Edhi devoted his entire life for the needy people without any discrimination which will be long remembered, he added. Edhi, the super humanitarian, not only served people in Pakistan but also in Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Iran, Sri Lanka, Croatia, Indonesia, and in the US after Hurricane Katrina, said APBF chief.
The Founders Group of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry has stressed the need for carrying forward Abdul Sattar Edhi's mission without any hindrance. Chairman of the Founders Group Ijaz Butt and senior leader Mian Muhammad Ashraf, while addressing a meeting of the Group held to pay tribute to Abdul Sattar Edhi, said that continuation of Edhi's mission is the best way to pay tribute to the great humanitarian. "Abdul Sattar Edhi would live in our hearts always. He hoisted Pakistan's flag and became identity of Pakistan around the globe," they said.
