Advisor to Chief Minister on Health Khawaja Salman Rafique on Tuesday said that the management of DHQs and THQs hospitals was a test of leadership for EDOs (H). Chairing the monthly EDOs (H) meeting, Salman said the district managers must themselves take the responsibility instead of waiting for surprise visits by the chief minister of the province. The meeting reviewed the status of completion of projects and funds utilization.
Alongside the Chair, Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Ali Jan Khan, Director General Health Services Punjab Dr Mukhtar Hussain Syed, EDOs (H) of all districts, Chief Minister Roadmap team, representatives of PITB, Policy and Strategic Planning Unit, Unicef, WHO and Program Managers participated in the conference.
The advisor to the Chief Minister also reviewed the progress of last two polio campaigns urging the districts to show the same commitment to improving the routine immunization. He reviewed the immunization efforts in the southern districts and asked the districts to prepare special immunization plans for possible population movement from riverine areas. He also reviewed the reports of independent monitors on the DHQs and THQs across the province by the provincial staff and inquired from the EDOs (H) for the same showing below performance.
Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Ali Jan Khan said that all under completion projects must be completed within this fiscal year and funds for the same will be provided.
He further said that attendance on bio matric was being ensured through support of the Punjab Information Technology Board and the staff not completing required may be penalized.
Director Expanded Program on Immunization Dr Munir Ahmed said that the polio campaign in selected officers will be held from 25 to 27 July. He also said the districts facing floods must appoint teams for the vaccination of the population moving from the flood-hit areas.
He also informed that vehicles were provided to the district surveillance officers and they must now perform their duties to the fullest.
The Chief Minister Roadmap team shared data analysis on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) like medicine supplies and stocks, medical officers' presence, bio metric attendance and E-vaccs coverage.
