Top foreign cricket stars are joining HBL Pakistan Super League with Sri Lankan pacer Lasith Malinga and South African all-rounder Albie Morkel becoming the latest additions to an impressive player roster.
Malinga and Morkel join former Kiwi skipper Brendon McCullum and current England ODI and T20 skipper Eoin Morgan as the latest players to have signed up for the HBL Pakistan Super League.
Malinga, who captained Sri Lanka to the 2014 ICC World T20 trophy, had to withdraw from last year's Player Draft because of an injury. Known for his famous yorkers, "Malinga the Slinger" has picked up 299 wickets in 221 T20 matches.
Hard-hitting South African all-rounder Albie Morkel joins the list of all-rounders for the HBL PSL Player Draft. Morkel's impressive T20 record - he has 3,767 runs and 230 wickets in 287 matches - will attract interest as teams look to bolster their line-ups for conditions in the UAE.
The player retention is currently open during which franchises have the option of retaining up to 16 players from their existing squads. During this phase, teams can also renegotiate with existing players. The player transfer window is concurrently open with teams having the option of using their draft pick order and or existing squads to trade.
