The Karachi Port handled 151,169 tonnes of cargo comprising 126,254 tonnes of import cargo and 24,915 tonnes of export cargo including 4,297 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday
The total import cargo of 126,254 tonnes comprised of 36,668 tonnes of containerised cargo; 20,191 tonnes of general cargo; 43,209 tonnes of total bulk cargo: 25,972 tonnes of coal; 6,206 tonnes of soyabean meal; 7,567 tonnes of DAP; 1,225 tonnes of palm kernel expeller and 26,186 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 24,915 tonnes comprised of 9,757 tonnes of containerised cargo; 15,158 tonnes of total bulk cargo: 6,848 tonnes of loose bulk cement and 8,310 tonnes of iron powder.
As many as 4,297 containers comprising of 1,875 containers import and 2,422 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 896 of 20's and 472 of 40's loaded while 1 of 20's and 17 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 164 of 20's and 120 of 40's loaded containers while 474 of 20's and 772 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were seven ships namely YM Enlightenment, Hanjin Indigo, APL Germany, Ital Laguna, MT Lahore, Spar Vega and Venus Triumph carrying containers, oil tanker, coal and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were seven vessels viz. Hyundai Freedom, APL Pearl, Wan Hai-506, Taroko, Red Eagle, Grand Cosmo and Hong Xing carrying containers, oil tanker, vehicle and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There were four ships namely HS Everest, Red Eagle, Muladis and Mohar carrying containers, oil tanker and cement respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday while another ship namely Taroko carrying containers is expected to sail on Wednesday.
There were seven vessels viz. OOCL Italy, MOL Dominance, Al Mahboobah, Yangze-6, Chang Hang Pu, Jin Jun and Pacific Dream carrying containers, chemical, coal, steel and general cargo respectively due to arrive on Tuesday while five vessels viz. Batam Trader, Kota Karim, ER Bilbao, Four Butterfly and Nanhai carrying containers, DAP, coal and general cargo respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 109,950 tonnes comprising 88,271 tonnes of import cargo and 21,679 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 3,687 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargo of 88,271 tonnes includes 7,649 tonnes of diesel oil; 12,400 tonnes of palm oil; 5,395 tonnes of soyabean; 6,900 tonnes of coal; 7,553 tonnes of chemical and 48,374 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo includes 21,679 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 3,687 containers comprising of 2,546 containers import and 1,141 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
There were three ships namely CV MSC Lucy, MT Nave Rigel and MT Bunga Aster carrying containers and oil tankers sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while two more ships namely CV Al-Manama and CV ER Vancouver carrying containers are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of nine vessels viz. CV MSC Lucy, CV Castro-N, CV Al-Manama, CV ER Vancouver, MV Fast, MV Tai Progress, MT Bunga Aster, MT Atlantic Glory and MT Nave Rigel currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, soyabean seeds, chemical, palm oil and diesel oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as nine ships namely MV Orhant, MV Bochem Singapore, MT Globe Tanya, MT Truk Gas, MT White Purl, MT Bahra, MT Al Dasma, MT Lion-M and MT Okyroe carrying clinker, chemical, LPG, diesel oil and furnace oil were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Tuesday.
There were four vessels viz. CV Maersk Atlanta, CV CMA CGM Otello, MT Truk Gas and MT Okyroe carrying containers, LPG and furnace oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, SSGC LPG Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
There were four ships namely CV Maersk Atlanta, CV CMA CGM Otello, CV MSC Toronto and CV Mehuin carrying containers respectively due to arrive on Tuesday.
There is one ship namely CV Northern Jamboree carrying containers due to arrive on Wednesday.
