Assistant Under-Secretary for Arab and Afro-Asian Affairs and head of a visiting Bahraini delegation Sheikha Rana Bint Isa Bin Daij Al Khalifa Wednesday praised the role of Pakistan in fighting terrorism. She conveyed appreciation of the Bahraini leadership for the sacrifices rendered by Pakistan in this regard. She was heading a delegation that called on the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi at the Foreign Ministry, said a press release.
Recalling the traditional bonds of friendship and fraternity that linked the people of Bahrain and Pakistan, Tariq Fatemi underlined the similarity in perception of the two countries on major regional and international issues. Both sides discussed issues of mutual interest and expressed a strong desire to further strengthen the brotherly relationship between both countries, with particular focus on economic and trade fields. The Special Assistant briefed the visiting delegation on Pakistan's policy of peaceful neighbourhood. Regional issues, including Yemen and Syria also came under discussion.
