Advisor to Prime Minister, Engr Ameer Muqam on Wednesday paid a surprise visit to SNGPL regional HQ in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He was briefed by GM, SNGPL Arbab Saqib no various development schemes of Sui Gas in the province. Engr. Ameer Muqam said that Sui Gas officials to resolve the issue of low pressure before the upcoming winter and the ongoing projects of Sui Gas to be completed on emergency basis.
Muqam was apprised of achievements and ongoing projects of SNGPL in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. 700 FIRs have been registered with the joint efforts of FIA against those who use Sui-Gas illegally and 600 million rupees have been recovered, GM SNGPL Arbab Saqib informed. Later, while talking to media persons, Advisor to PM Engr. Ameer Muqam said that losses have been reduced from 20% to 14%. 30,000 connections were provided to the consumers, while in coming year provision of the connections would be increased from 30,000 to 50,000 he added.
Engr. Ameer Muqam said that the Federal Government has sanctioned 2.5 billion rupees for Malakand Division in respect of Sui-Gas to resolve the problem of low pressure and increase capacity of Sui Gas in Malakand Division. He said the main pipe in Peshawar on University Road will also be upgraded from 12 inches to 16 inches. Similarly, pipe from 8 inches will be increased to 12 inches in Swat to resolve low pressure problem.
Advisor to PM lauded the efforts of GM, SNGPL Arbab Saqib and his team. He said that recovery, solving low pressure problem and the prevention of usage of illegal Sui Gas are at the credit of GM Arbab Saqib. He not only saved the national exchequer but also ensured the facilities to consumers.
