Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) has passed a resolution to name '2 Thousand Road' of Korangi Industrial area after Abdul Sattar Edhi to honour him and also announced to establish a fund to collect donations for Edhi Foundation. The resolution was passed in a condolence meeting chaired by its president Zahid Saeed held at KATI head office, here on Wednesday.
In his condolence message, which was read out in the meeting, Patron-in-chief KATI, S M Muneer has praised the humanitarian work and services of Edhi. Muneer also urged the KATI members and business community to provide all possible assistance and aid to Edhi Foundation to continue his legacy of serving people. President KATI Zahid Saeed said that history tells us, every great man changed the world with public service, not with words but with idea to serve, Edhi was a continuation of this philosophy.
He said, "Now the whole nation should own his work and put every effort to make it continue with more viability and larger extend." Senior Vice President of KATI Saleem Uzzaman said that Edhi lived like a saint and departed like a king, he gave us a message throughout his life, to serve people and we should follow this message now. Zahid Saeed said that collection of this fund will be donated to Edhi Foundation, he also urged the members of KATI and business community to contribute in this fund.
Vice President of KATI Syed Wajid Hussain, Syed Farrukh Mazhar, Akbar Farooqui, Dr Samee Uzzaman, Mehmood Ul Hasan, Ghazanfar Ali Khan, Junaid Naqi and other members also participated in this condolence meeting and paid a tribute to Edhi. Prayers were also offered for the departed soul.
