PML Q President and former Prime Minister, Chaudhry Shujat Hussain has said that bold decisions were needed to solve the Kashmir problems in accordance with the wishes of the Kashmiri people. Addressing a press conference here on Sunday he condemned Indian atrocities and oppression in occupied Kashmir and weak response of Pakistan Government.
He said the rulers of Pakistan and India will have to go beyond formal traditional statements of "Kashmir Hamara Atoot Ang" and "Kashmir Baney Ga Pakistan" and take bold and courageous decisions according to the wishes of the Kashmiris.
He recalled that during his visit to India at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, he had told the Indian Prime Minister that Pakistan and India would have to take bold decisions for peaceful solution of Kashmir issue irrespective of whether these decisions were popular among the people or not.
Criticising the present government, Chaudhry Shujaat said our rulers are in deep slumber over bloodshed and atrocities in occupied Kashmir whereas Chairman Kashmir Committee is snoring and instead of working on Kashmir cause, he is after the Panama leaks.
"The government should send its ministers throughout the world to do lobbying for Kashmir cause and highlight Indian atrocities, someone may hear our voice.
Referring to situation in Turkey, Shujaat said consistent performance of Tayyip Erdogan and as a result of that prosperity of the poor and economic strength has paid dividends.
Responding to a question about peoples' reaction in Turkey, he said when Tayyip Erdogan came to power in 2003, Turkey was under debt of 25 billion dollars, through hard work and concerted efforts he gave prosperity to the poor people of Turkey, improved the economy, cut off IMF and in fact now Turkey lends loans to IMF.
Replying to another question, Chaudhry Shujaat said PML-N is still in power due to self interest and egoism of the opposition leaders. "We can send the government home through unity"
About Nawaz Sharif's illness, he said Masha Allah, he has recovered, and "I had sent a bouquet for him and also enquired about his welfare".
He said if members with clean and strong characters were not selected for Election Commission and opposition parties did not unite then the next election like 2013 would also be rigged.
