Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that those people are very lucky who are provided opportunity of public service by Allah Almighty. He said that local bodies are of paramount importance for democratic system and a best source of completion of the obligation of public service at local level.
He was addressing a meeting of Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen of Union Councils at Model Town, Sunday. The Chief Minister said that Pakistan Muslim League-N achieved a record success in local bodies' elections and the people expressed their full confidence in the leadership of PML-N and succeeded them through their votes. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, the country is moving speedily towards the goal of progress, prosperity, peace and light.
He said that PML-N government has made high standard, transparency and speed its hallmark. Sharif said that PML-N government is free from corruption and even opponents cannot raise finger against us. He said that national resources of billions of rupees have been saved by ensuring high standard and transparency in development projects, which is unprecedented in the history of the country.
He said that round-the-clock work has been carried out for improving every sector during last three years and new records of public service will be set during next two years. He said that service to the people through honesty and hard work is our mission.
He said that they have been elected for service to the people and now it is their duty to utilise all their energies for public service. He prayed that may Allah Almighty grant them courage to come up to the expectations of the people.
