Heavy rains and flash floods in streams coupled with land sliding rendered Lowari tunnel closed for all kind of traffic and cut off Chital district from rest of the country. According to Director, National Highway Authority (NHA) Afzal Khan, he flash flood and land sliding on late Sunday night blocked the roads causing traffic jam on both side of the tunnel.
However, the people stuck in traffic jam blamed NHA for slow pace of work to clear the road and said that hundreds of people are stranded on both side of the tunnel.
