The central executive of the Jamaat-e-Islami has expressed complete solidarity with the Turkish people and greeted the Turkish nation and government on the failure of the coup bid.
The JI central body at its meeting at Mansoora with the JI Chief, Senator Sirajul Haq, in the chair, noted that the Turkish government had adopted a bold and firm stance on every issue of the Muslim world due to which the anti-Islam powers were hatching conspiracies against the democratic and popular government of Turkey. The present coup bid was also a part of the same conspiracy.
The Central executive lauded the democratic awareness and the national spirit of the Turkish people who stood like a wall against tanks to protect their democratic system and basic rights.
The JI central body said the courage and democratic outlook of the Turkish people was a model for the entire Muslim world especially the Pakistani people to be emulated.
It said Turkish President Erdogan and his team had demonstrated exemplary courage during this crisis and proved their leadership through their wise decisions.
It also commended the conduct of the Turkish generals, military officers and troops who refused to side with the rebels and honoured their oath and commitment to the democratic system.
The JI executive also lauded the decision of all political leaders of Turkey who stood in support of the democratic system and the elected government against the rebels despite their political differences with the government.
It said the love and brotherhood of the people of Turkey and Pakistan for each other would last forever and the Pakistani people would also rise above all differences and stand united for the solidarity of their country.
