Major General Asif Mumtaz Sukhara, Army Medical Corps (AMC), has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-General and appointed Surgeon General of Pakistan Army. Presently he is Deputy Surgeon General at GHQ. He will replace Lieutenant-General Imran Majeed, who has been appointed Vice Chancellor National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS).
