The Karachi Port handled 158,699 tonnes of cargo comprising 134,274 tonnes of import cargo and 24,425 tonnes of export cargo including 4,568 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday The total import cargo of 134,274 tonnes comprised of 32,288 tonnes of containerised cargo; 23,934 tonnes of general cargo; 36,693 tonnes of total bulk cargo: 20,100 tonnes of coal; 3,192 tonnes of soyabean meal; 6,562 tonnes of canola; 6,326 tonnes of DAP; 513 tonnes of palm kernel expeller and 41,359 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 24,425 tonnes comprised of 24,125 tonnes of containerised cargo and 300 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 4,568 containers comprising of 2,362 containers import and 2,206 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 761 of 20's and 772 of 40's loaded while 21 of 20's and 18 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 679 of 20's and 325 of 40's loaded containers while 299 of 20's and 289 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There were eight ships namely Bomar Rissen, Kota Kaya, MT Shalamar, New Naxos, Oriental Marguerite, ER Bilbao, Limans Express and Nan Hai carrying containers, oil tankers, coal, vehicle and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were eleven vessels viz. Kota Lembah, MOL Dedication, Hafnia Sunda, Asaveri, Maritime Kelly Anne, Limans Express, Ocean King, Osama Jumbo-5, Lian Hua Song, Antje and Catalonia carrying containers, oil tankers, chemical, vehicle, rock phosphate, tug and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There were four ships namely MT Lahore, Maritime Kelly Anne, Asaveri and Royal-27 carrying oil tankers, chemical and seeds respectively sailed out to sea on Friday, while three ships namely Hafnia Sunda, Four Butterfly and Pacific Dream carrying oil tanker, DAP and general cargo respectively are expected to sail on Saturday. There were two vessels viz. Al Abdali and Leopard Star carrying containers and oil tanker respectively due to arrive on Friday while three vessels viz. Ever Divine, Scot Hamburg and Ananya Naree carrying containers, chemical and DAP respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 130,822 tonnes comprising 87,598 tonnes of import cargo and 43,224 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 2,922 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 87,598 tonnes includes 7,990 tonnes of furnace oil; 9,750 tonnes of palm oil; 2,400 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 40,000 tonnes of LNG; 5,400 tonnes of chemical; 6,725 tonnes of canola and 15,333 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 43,224 tonnes includes 3,039 tonnes of cement and 40,185 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 2,922 containers comprising of 807 containers import and 2,115 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
There were four ships namely CV CMA CGM Corneile, MV Orhan, MV Navg-8 Around and MT GSW Future carrying containers, clinker, fertilizer and oil tanker sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while another ship namely MT Golden Brilliant carrying palm oil is expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of nine vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Corneile, CV Maersk Savannah, MV Johar Express, MV Angelic Glory, MV Navg-8 Around, MT Golden Brilliant, MT GSW Future, MT Impros and MT Ummbab currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, cement, canola seeds, soyabean seeds, palm oil, furnace oil and LNG respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as nine ships namely CV ER Traiping, MV Yangze-6, MV ER Bilbao, MV Glarus, MT Tectus, MT Maitros, MT Bahra, MT Okyroe and MT White Purl carrying containers, coal, fertilizer, furnace oil, diesel oil and LPG were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Friday. There were three vessels viz. CV ER Traiping, CV Maersk Innoshima and MV Yangze-6 carrying containers and coal expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Iron Ore & Coal Berth respectively on Friday. There were no ships due to arrive on Friday.
