The Karachi Port handled 122,872 tonnes of cargo comprising 101,314 tonnes of import cargo and 21,558 tonnes of export cargo including 5,909 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 101,314 tonnes comprised of 49,739 tonnes of containerised cargo; 447 tonnes of general cargo; 23,081 tonnes of total bulk cargo: 10,883 tonnes of coal; 3,059 tonnes of soyabean meal; 4,254 tonnes of DAP; 4,885 tonnes of rock phosphate and 28,047 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo comprised of 21,558 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 5,909 containers comprising of 3,141 containers import and 2,768 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 1,272 of 20's and 907 of 40's loaded while 13 of 20's and 21 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 328 of 20's and 617 of 40's loaded containers while 360 of 20's and 423 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There were seven ships namely Batam Trader, Kota Kamil, Hyundai General, Navig8 Honour, Aditya, Lia and Ocean Quartz carrying containers, oil tanker, coal and steel respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were two vessels viz. MOL Explorer and Xin Wei Hai carrying containers respectively currently at the berths. There were four ships namely Taroko, YM Excellence, Athina and Ananya Naree carrying containers, oil tanker and DAP respectively sailed out to sea on Friday.
There were six vessels viz. OOCL California, Sabya, MT Shalamar, Valor, Navig8 Amazonite and Jin Ao carrying containers, oil tankers, chemical and steel respectively due to arrive on Friday while eight vessels viz. APL Cyprine, Leopard, Seascout, Rive Wind, New Age, Trans Former OL, Hony World and Han Li carrying containers, oil tankers, coal, vehicle, steel and general cargo respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 130,509 tonnes comprising 95,458 tonnes of import cargo and 35,051 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 2,800 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 95,458 tonnes includes 19,482 tonnes of diesel oil; 38,000 tonnes of LNG; 4,130 tonnes of coal; 3,121 tonnes of chemical; 9,825 tonnes of fertiliser and 20,900 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 35,051 tonnes includes 2,751 tonnes of cement and 32,300 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 2,800 containers comprising of 1,100 containers import and 1,700 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
There were three ships namely MV Wavasan Emerald, MV Viola and MT Bahra carrying chemical, coal and diesel oil sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while two more ships namely CV CMA CGM Maussant and MV Johar Express carrying containers and cement are expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of nine vessels viz. CV Maersk Salalah, CV CMA CGM Maussant, MV Johar Express, MV Glarus, MV Viola, MV BBC Vela, MV Wavasan Emerald, MT Maran Gas and MT Bahra currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, cement, fertiliser, coal, general cargo, LNG and diesel oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as fourteen ships namely CV Maersk Salalah, MV Diyaab, MV Voge Challenger, MV Sea-3, MV Daz Hong, MV Africa Glory, MV Aditya, MT Tomson Gas, MT Tectus, MT Mari Ugland, MT Maitros, GP T2, MT Karachi and MT Super Lady carrying containers, cement, canola seeds, general cargo, coal, steel coil, LPG, diesel oil and furnace oil at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Friday.
There were five vessels viz. CV Toconad, MV Diyaab, MV Fareast Honesty, MT Supar Lady and MT Tomson Gas carrying containers, cement, coal, furnace oil and LPG expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, SSGC LPG Terminal, Iron Ore & Coal Berth and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Friday. There were three ships namely MV Unity, MV Trans Farmer OL and MT Pacific carrying meal, steel coil and furnace oil respectively due to arrive on Friday.
