The Model Customs Collectorate Hyderabad has foiled an attempt of smuggling of contraband goods/narcotics by seizing 177 kilograms Charas from hidden parts of a car near Jacobabad. The spokesman for Model Customs Collectorate Hyderabad, Muhammad Yaqoob Pasha informed here on Monday that on credible information of Collector Customs Hyderabad Agha Shahid Majeed Khan, a team of Anti-Smuggling Squad Sukkur was constituted by the Collector Customs Sukkur Zamzam Aman.
The squad supervised by the Superintendent Anti-Smuggling Squad Sukkur Ghulam Shabir Phulpota, intercepted a corolla GLI Car No: AYS-317 near Jacobabad, which coming from Balochistan. During the search of the car, the Squad seized 177 kilograms Charas concealed in secret fittings. The Squad arrested the car driver Arif Iqbal and registered an FIR against him under relevant provisions of the Customs Act 1969. A Notice under Section 171 of the Customs Act 1969 has also been issued, the spokesman said and added that further investigation from the arrested accused persons is under process and more arrests are expected.
