Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has laid the foundation of a just society by ensuring that every deserving child has equitable access to free schooling facilities. Education is the key to success in the 21st century and quality schooling will catalyse to promote knowledge-based economy. This will help the educated youth to prosper through education.
Chairman PEF Qamar-ul-Islam Raja said this while addressing the 3rd district co-ordination meeting at Iqbal Auditorium, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad on Tuesday. 550 school partners from T.T. Singh, Chiniot, Faisalabad and Jhang attended the meeting.
Raja said that education is the fundamental right of every child; therefore, PEF has entered into partnership with thousands of private schools to help provide free education to the disfranchised segment at their doorsteps. Now, the people should take full benefit of different free educational programs launched by the foundation. This will help them to wriggle out of the vicious circle of poverty. He said that a holistic approach has been adopted to help improve the overall academic standards of partner schools so that students could get best education. A centralised complaint cell has been established at the head office and different I.T. based steps have also been taken to make our public private partnership more efficient, transparent and result-oriented.
MD PEF Tariq Mahmood said that school leadership program and teacher development program have been launched for professional development of teachers and head teachers. The partner schools are mapped through geographical information system to identify new areas for education-promotion where schools' infrastructure is insufficient to accommodate the disfranchised segments, he added.
Different program directors also spoke on the occasion, while school partners appreciated the strong support provided by the foundation.
