Jahangir Allah Rakha, administrator of the Cattle Market Sohrab Goth has said that citizens will see better facilities this year at the cattle market where 0.3 million animals will be available for sale and purchase. As the Muslims are bracing to buy sacrificial animals for sacrifice during Eidul-Azha, the administration is completing needed arrangements to formally open the market.
"An area of 700 acres has been divided into 26 blocks for the animals among them four VIP blocks are for cattle from the farms," Jahangir Allah Rakha, said adding that special arrangements had been made for facilitation, security and safety of traders and their livestock. Rangers would remain alert in nearby areas of Mandi, in addition to police deployment. He said that it would be made sure that incidents of stealing and theft of animals were avoided completely.
"Safe transactions will be ensured. Banks and other money transfer solution providers will facilitate traders for safe deposit and transfer of money," he said. The administrator further said that steps had been taken to check and confirm vaccination of the sacrificial animals. Traders have been advised to get their animals timely vaccinated to avoid actions against them by the administration.
Jahangir said that cleanliness of the cattle market area and adjoining areas had been completed while facilities for water and feed for the animals were in place. Clean water would be supplied for the animals within the market. Clean drinking water is also available for traders and customers and they can avail these facilities at cheaper rates.
Traders from all over Pakistan have already started bringing in their animals at the cattle market but official opening has not yet been announced.
