Activists of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) on Thursday staged a protest against the visit of Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh to Islamabad. Around 50 activists and senior leaders of the APHC took part in the protest held in front of the Diplomatic Enclave. Protesters holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans like "Blood Bath-Rajnath", "Go India, Go Back" and "UN help to stop Indian state terrorism in occupied Kashmir" and "India stop war crime in Kashmir".
Heavy contingent of police were deployed to avert any untoward incident. Indian Home Minister arrived in Islamabad on Wednesday for attending the meeting of interior ministers from the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) hosted by Pakistan. Ghulam Muhammad Safi convenor APHC, Mir Tahir Masood senior leader of APHC, Altaf Butt and other leaders took part in the protest.
They said that APHC informed the government in advance not to allow the visit of Rajnath Singh who is responsible for the killing of innocent people in Held Kashmir but the rulers didn't pay a heed to their demand. Speakers stated that Rajnath Singh is solely responsible for killing of more than 60 innocent Kashmiri people and injury to other 6,000 people since the protests erupted in Indian Held Kashmir after security forces killed prominent freedom fighter Burhan Wani last month. They said that Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan needs to play his role by taking up the question of atrocities committed by the Indian forces in Occupied Kashmir with his Indian counterpart.
