Apple’s rare, historic 1970s fully-functional Apple-1 computer built by Steve Jobs himself was set up for auction and has now sold for over 500 times its original price.

The Apple-1 computers made by co-founders Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak were sold for $666.66 back in mid 1970s. Now, one of the less than 70 remaining original Apple computers was sold at auction for $375,000, more than 562 times the original price.

As per CNET, the auctioned computer was special one since it was restored to working condition before being auctioned. The online auction held by RR Auction featured other Apple’s rare and historic products too such as a signed annual report signed by Steve Jobs that was sold for $23,750.

Executive VP of RR Auction, Bobby Livingston expressed that he was ‘thrilled’ with the price that the Apple-1 earned. He said, “We are thrilled at the price achieved and that’s why we thought it fitting that the Apple-1 should headline our annual Rare and Remarkable auction – it’s a museum-quality piece that has earned a special place in history.”

Apple expert Corey Cohen reinstated the computer to its original and operational state. After performing tests, Cohen gave the Apple-1 and 8.5/10 rating after working for eight hours straight based on the current condition.

Moreover, there an estimated 60 or so Apple-1 computer still left of the original 200 ones that were designed and built by Jobs and Wozniak, wrote Daily Mail.
