FPCCI annual elections: UBG to announce its candidates at Lahore's meeting

Core Committee of United Business Group (UBG) will announce the name of its candidates for President and Senior Vice President in the forthcoming elections of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPPCI) in its meeting scheduled to be held in Lahore on October 15. The selection of contesting candidates would be made purely be on merit and after consensus. In case of more than one candidate are there for a seat, process of secret balloting will be adopted to select one name for the slot.
Members of central and all the provincial UBG core committees meeting held in Karachi expressed full confidence in the group Chairman Iftikar Ali Malik and expressed that the group leaders will keep business community united. Speaking on the occasion, Malik said that process of nominating president and senior vice president candidates for FPCCI election 2017 will be competed in Lahore meeting of the core committee scheduled to be held on October.
He said that the group enjoy compete support from chambers in Punjab, KPK and also have support from chambers in Sindh and Balochistan. He said that FPCCI was acting as bridge between business community and government and pleading business community's issues at all forums to get them resolved. Malik said that the efforts would be made to bring `true' democracy in FPCCI through ballot.
He expressed the hope that UBG will sweep the forthcoming elections of the FPCCI and will serve the cause of business community of the country more effectively. President FPCCI Abdul Rauf Alam said that the construction of FPCCI building in Islamabad had almost completed and likely to be inaugurated by the end of this month. He said that the FPCCI was also working on GSP plus and making efforts so that European Union should continue this facility in future.
The meeting was attended among others by Secretary General UBG Zubair Tufal, Spokesman Gulzar Feroz, SVP FPCCI Khalid Tawab, Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, Abdul Sami Khan, Abdul Haseeb Khan, Malik Sohail, Noor Ahmed Khan, Engineer Daroo Khan, Waseem Vohra, Nawiad, Dr Noman Butt, Haji Mohammad Afzal, Shaikh Riaz Uddin, Nasir Uddin Shaikh, Shakeel Ahmed, Mumtaz Shaikh, Ikram, Irfan, Hanif Gohar.
