The colourful inaugural ceremony of 1st All Pakistan Chairman POF Board Indoor Basketball Tournament 2016 held at POF Sports Complex under the auspices of POF Sports Control Board.
Muhammad Afzal MPC & Member POF Board was the Chief Guest of the inaugural ceremony who inaugurated the tournament by throwing the ball into the basket. The function commenced with the playing of National Anthem, later the students of various schools of POF performed excellent Karate & got appreciation from the spectators.
The inaugural match was played between POF & Mardan Division on this occasion in which POF defeated Mardan with the score 69-30 and got first success in the league matches of the tournament. Six more matches were played on the 1st day in which Faisalabad Division defeated Bannu (46-22), Police defeated Hazara (63-62), Pakistan Army defeated Rawalpindi (73-24), Pakistan Air Force defeated Islamabad (68-40), WAPDA defeated Sargodha (109-47) & Gujranwala defeated Peshawar (52-40).
Earlier, Secretary POF Sports Control Board Asad Durrani told in his welcoming remarks that 15 well reputed teams from all over the country are participating in this tournament.-PR
