The Karachi Port handled 181,697 tonnes of cargo comprising 163,201 tonnes of import cargo and 18,496 tonnes of export cargo including 6,624 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 163,201 tonnes comprised of 53,576 tonnes of containerised cargo; 5,989 tonnes of general cargo; 37,554 tonnes of total bulk cargo: 28,367 tonnes of coal; 3,658 tonnes of soyabean meal; 3,887 tonnes of DAP; 1,642 tonnes of rock phosphate and 66,082 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo comprised of 18,496 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 6,624 containers comprising of 4,010 containers import and 2,614 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,255 of 20's and 1,372 of 40's loaded while 7 of 20's and 2 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 562 of 20's and 187 of 40's loaded containers while 870 of 20's and 404 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were six ships namely Taroko, Silver Monika, Unity, Pacific Ace, Zealand Amsterdam and Ever Precious carrying containers, oil tanker, seeds, meal, rock phosphate and coal respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were three vessels viz. A Idefix, Privaegfan and Chang Hang Huai Hai carrying containers, coal and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There were six ships namely MOL Experience, A Idefix, United Grace, Bofors, Osam Jumbo-5 and Jin Han carrying containers, oil tanker, tug and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea on Friday.
There were five vessels viz. Hyundai Jakarta, Najran, Batam Trader, MT Quetta and Bomar Jupiter carrying containers, oil tanker and solvent respectively due to arrive on Friday while four vessels viz. APL Germany, Sima Giselle, Bay Pearl and Da Yu Xia carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 99,746 tonnes comprising 67,824 tonnes of import cargo and 31,922 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 2,382 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 67,824 tonnes includes 33,343 tonnes of furnace oil; 9,000 tonnes of palm oil; 2,781 tonnes of general cargo; 1,548 tonnes of LPG; 5,496 tonnes of canola seeds and 15,656 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 31,922 tonnes includes 2,320 tonnes of cement and 29,602 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 2,382 containers comprising of 824 containers import and 1,558 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
There were three ships namely CV Priority, MT Tomson Gas and MT GP T2 carrying containers, LPG, and furnace oil sailed out to sea on Friday morning.
A total number of eight vessels viz. CV Priority, CV Conti Annapurna, MV Diamond Sea, MV Sea Pegasus, MV Da Xia, MT Ginga Saker, MT Tomson Gas and MT GP T2 currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, cement, general cargo, canola seeds, palm oil, LPG and furnace oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as twelve ships namely CV Safmarine Nyassa, MV CMB Adrienne, MV Nassau Energy, MV Bunga Lavender, MV Atlantic Glory, MT Methaine Lydon Volney, MT White Purl, MT Mari Ugland, MT Maitros, MT Bahra, MT Athenia and MT Karachi carrying containers, rice, cement, chemical, LNG, LPG, diesel oil and furnace oil at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Friday.
There were seven vessels viz. CV Hansa Africa, CV San Felipe, MV CMB Adrienne, MV Atlantic Glory, MV Bunga Lavender, MT Methaine Lydon Volney and MT Karachi carrying containers, rice, chemical, LNG and furnace oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Grain & Fertilizer Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Friday.
There are three ships namely MV Rickmers Shanghai, MT Gas Lion and MT Sea Scout carrying project cargo, LPG and furnace oil due to arrive on Friday.
There are three ships namely CV Safmarine Nyassa, CV MSC Rita and MT Mezira carrying containers and diesel oil due to arrive on Saturday.
There is one ship namely CV MSC Asya carrying containers due to arrive on Sunday.
