Lahore High Court Chief Justice, Mansoor Ali Shah has hoped that 13 vacant posts of high court judges will be filled before the end of summer vacations. He was hearing a petition regarding appointment of judges on the vacant vacancies here on Monday. The petitioner's counsel A K Dogar argued that under the law, the strength of Lahore High Court's judge is 60 but posts of 13 judges were lying vacant which is a clear violation of the Constitution.
He said under the Constitution this court is incomplete without the prescribed number of 60 judges. The consul contended that it is a fundamental right of every lawyer who is eligible and qualified under the Constitution to be appointed judge of a high court.
